RE: What I harvested today - Small chilli - 28-09-2020 Cabbage, runner beans, broccoli, carrots & first sprouts of the season RE: What I harvested today - JJB - 28-09-2020 Courgettes and tomatoes RE: What I harvested today - Small chilli - 29-09-2020 9 Tromboncino & a sweet pepper RE: What I harvested today - Can the Man - 29-09-2020 Potatoes kilian, lemoncellla and capsicum chillis and lettuce RE: What I harvested today - Bren - 30-09-2020 Yesterday, carrots, toms, herbs, courgette to go in a soup. This morning apples and raspberries. RE: What I harvested today - Can the Man - 30-09-2020 Carrots onions and potatoes, then parsley thyme and rosemary RE: What I harvested today - Small chilli - 02-10-2020 A big bunch of parsley flat leaf & curled RE: What I harvested today - Eyren - 06-10-2020 Couple of hundred grams each of Boltardy and Chioggia beetroot (once the leaves were cut off) and a few Paris Market carrots. [attachment=1438] One of the carrots has forked into three (actually rather cute!) and my beetroot harvest has been disappointing - most of them are still too small to be worth picking unless I want to pickle them - lots of leaves, but they're full of holes and not very appetising. Any advice? Should I blame the weird weather this summer? It's oscillated between baking hot and sodden here in East Anglia. Also I'm growing my veg in a couple of old raised beds, only about 6 inches deep (planning on replacing them with deeper ones over the winter as crops finish) - they were about half full of old soil and compost, and I topped them up with multi-purpose peat-free before planting. RE: What I harvested today - Small chilli - 06-10-2020 Harvested the last of the tomatoes, some sweet peppers & chillies. RE: What I harvested today - Bren - 07-10-2020 Toms, lettuce, basil, nasturtium seeds, apples and raspberries yesterday. |
