I ain't no poet as ya'll all agree
But bear with me for now, as I try and decree
This forum is tops, in my fair mind
Oh, what a crawley begger I can be at times!
Twenty five squid is not to be sniffed at
so I'l do my best not to be a daft pratt
Stop blathering Vinny I here you say
OK I'll get on with it and try and convey
Its been a tough year for us all
Both weatherise, and with covid
But the forum has helped me to offload
My thoughts and daft ideas
Onto a willing crowd of nutters and enthusiasts
Some of which are Gentlemen/Gentlewomen and scholiasts
My love of this forum, the only one I frequent
Is only matched by my anguish and torment
When I realise there are so many Garden and Gossipers
who are more knowledgeable than I and full on philosophers
There's Veggie,Bren,Small Chilli & Scarlet who run the show for Admin
Who gets the whip out every now and agin!
No question is too daft for us nutters to ask
And a lot of my posts take a while to unmask
So in essence my thanks to Admin and team
Who do a grand job
And make Garden & gossip sparkle and gleam
On this first anniversary
I would say that its necessary
To congratulate the chatterers
And long live the characters!

Who belongs to that....? is an unusual turn of phrase have you spent much time in the land of song??Or is this a phrase used elsewhere too. I know that the construct of the Welsh language can be a little quirky as my OH will often ask me who belongs to that house
Its nice to belong though.

Ok I've only got 14 mins left!!
I'm rubbish at writing and I've not got a great sense of humour on paper and I know VC has some great rhyming skills....but I belong here because I've"met" some great people who I would truly list as friends. I know in the real world
I could happily walk around my garden or yours and talk plants, maybe dig a few out for swaps and tag a few plants to save seed. My garden is already brimming with plants from friends here, I've purple scabious, eryngium and salvias, sweet peas climbing their poles. Lupins have been growing for a few year now and tomato seeds this year and I know exactly who saved them. Seeds pop up in my greenhouse and I know that I split that packWith VC a few years ago. I've had a few ups and downs over that last few years, I've really moaned and whinged but I've found comfort with friends that grow. I love to share photos and my new found love - Dahlias! and I have lots of encouragement- also got my kitchen designed as a bonus. Virtual friends are real friends. Somewhere to stop off for a coffee, a chat and a five min break in between digging in dahlias. Also a place to ask dumb questions without being laughed at. Love a chat about anything gardens. A brill place to be. Xx
