So here's my list Jalapeno Razzamatazz Anaheim Apple crisp Beaver dam Onza I'm only planning to grow one plant of each but have far too many seedlings. I'm going to have to find giveaway homes for the others. Jimmy Nardello is a no: zero germination. Added some new sweet peppers as replacements: Nocturne, Lunchbox Orange and Yesil Tatli. RE: 2021 grow list - mcdood - 28-02-2021 Pricked out my chillies , Loco, De Cayenne and Early Jalapeno RE: 2021 grow list - Eyren - 07-03-2021 First little green bumps in the compost this morning Both are Hungarian Black; no action yet from the Ancho Poblano or Trinidad Perfume, but it's early days yet as I only sowed them 9 days ago and the propagator is still on 25ºC, so not at optimum temperature. On the sweet pepper front, Lipstick is germinating nicely but no sign of the Sweet Chocolate yet, nor the aubergines. However the tomato seedlings are starting to bud their true leaves, so I'll be pricking them out in a couple of weeks. If the weather picks up, I can put the pots into regular seed trays with propagator lids on, and give the peppers and aubergines more heat. Next year I'll be able to sow the heat-lovers earlier and then turn the thermostat down when I sow the tomatoes, but this year the timing just didn't work out. RE: 2021 grow list - Eyren - 08-03-2021 Ancho Poblano has started germinating! I decided to water the corner modules with no-shows (aubergines and Trinidad Perfume chilli), as the compost surface felt a bit crusty - they haven't been watered since I sowed them a week last Friday, so I'm hoping it'll help rather than hinder. RE: 2021 grow list - Eyren - 09-03-2021 Trying not to get too excited at the first signs of germination of Trinidad Perfume - there were only 8 seeds in the packet and I sowed them all, so I'm on tenterhooks! Hungarian Black are going strong with their purple-tinged leaves, and the Ancho Poblano will soon have caught them up. It was hot in the propagator today (33 degrees!) because of the sunshine, so I'm hoping it wasn't too much for any of my seedlings. They all seem pretty robust under the grow-lights, though! RE: 2021 grow list - Small chilli - 09-03-2021 I’m with you on Trinidad perfume excitement. I had a little loop in the propagator this morning. I was starting to give up! Especially as my one and only seed that I managed to save last year, was sown on the 26.12.20. Wow, I feel bad now for being impatient over seeds sown less than two weeks ago! I guess I was spoiled by the tomatoes, which have been doing their best impression of radishes on the germination front! |
