No change from 2025 then !!

Without googling it, is Lent the same as Ramadan? Huh I am trying to give up fizzy drinks and flavoured water, not because of Lent btw. I am drinking carbonated water and bottled water so am still getting my fill of microplastics! Rolleyes

Lent is celebrated by Christians. Ramadan is Muslim.

1. Books - don't buy any.
2. Books - give away a book a day
3. Stop using teabags and use looseleaf tea instead.
4. Eat homemade bread.
5. Sow a packet of seeds a day
6. No ready meals
7. No pretend meat products

There may be more!
I couldn't  choose a favourite - so I'm going to try  to  do all of them. A few may fall by the wayside but, as long as I can stick to a few of them until Easter, I'll be satisfied.

I started preparations today.
No 2. Started a  Book pile with the book I finished a few days ago.
No. 3 - I moved all the "teabags" out of the kitchen and replaced them with looseleaf teas so no excuse not to manage this  one.
No. 4. I made a loaf of bread.
No 5. Too wet to sow anything outdoors so I put some carlin peas to soak for peashoots.
Nos 6 & 7. Put some Fava beans to soak - ready to cook  tomorrow.

Once again, without checking on google, is Lent to celebrate when Jesus went out in the desert for 40 days and was tempted by the devil (the reason why we abstain)? Or have I got this all wrong.
It's a long time since I went to a Methodist Sunday School, so forgive me if I am wrong!

Exactly as 2025 and probably the 10 years previous.  No, I'm not up for challenges,  never have been, I'm very boring and like an easy life.

Yes, it is.

Well in that case I’m happy to be tempted by the devil  Big Grin .
I , like Vinny haven’t been to Sunday school for a while. If I’m honest I didn’t go very often anyway. I remember being absolutely outraged by being made to go to school on a Sunday. I hated the Monday to Friday stint as it was. The fact it was about religion just added insult to injury according to 6 year old me. My view hast changed    Wink .

I felt just as strongly when they tried to get me to go to brownies. That didn’t last long either. I just didn’t want to be involved with anything that involved other kids. To this day I feel the same way.

And yet here you are chatting away with all us kids.
