RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - Veggie - 03-02-2025 Advance warning! Yesterday February 1st, marked the first day of spring in the Celtic Calendar "Imbolc". Tomorrow is Fruits day in my Calendar so I'm going to welcome spring by sowing a few seeds - tomatoes, cucumber, courgettes, DFBs, and maybe a sweet pepper, and an aubergine. Just a few of each. Telling you now, so that you have time to join me. ![]() ![]() RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - Small chilli - 03-02-2025 I do want to, but my compost doesn’t arrive until the 14th . I’m almost counting the hours ![]() RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - JJB - 03-02-2025 Too early for me to sow toms, DFB or anything tender, Imbolc or not. They will either take over the house or get frosted in the gh. I've learnt the hard way. I have put some saved BBeans and sweet peas to soak. The BBs I sowed in early autumn have succumbed to the cold, so that was a waste of seed and time. Autumn sown sweet peas seem to be OK though. RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - Bren - 03-02-2025 I've made a start and sown a few mixed lettuce seeds. RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - Garrett - 03-02-2025 I'm until mid February to start off my peppers. I'll have to sow more sweet peas as the ones I sowed in autumn aren't looking promising. Oh, and some cerinthe. They don't mind cooler weather and they're good to pop in wherever there's a space. RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - SarrissUK - 03-02-2025 I've potted up my seedlings that have come up, so I've not sown anything today. But I'm reading up on what I can sow other than what I've already popped in the compost. Cerinthe is a good idea, Garrett, I might sow some of those tonight ![]() RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - toomanytommytoes - 03-02-2025 I'm going to try selling chilli plants this year so sowed some habaneros and scotch bonnets yesterday. The annuums can wait until March, otherwise they'll get too big. Today I sowed my own chillies and sweet peppers, plus loads of onions, sweet peas, aubrietia and echinacea. RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - Small chilli - 04-02-2025 Direct sown very old pink poppies, purple poppies, giant hibiscus & snap dragons. Also mixed self saved white, red & purple scabious and camassia leichtlinii . All scattered around the post box bed. RE: 2025 - What I sowed today - SarrissUK - 04-02-2025 I've sown two packets of sweet peas that I found (Bijou mix) that I didn't know I had (yay!), Allium Hair seeds, my favourite allium from Farendwoman and dahlia seeds for red/yellow flowers from Jen! Love a sowing session with seed swap seeds. I also found more compost in the shed, so there will be more sowings, once I've applied for a few more jobs and gone through the feedback from my last uni essay. |
