RE: 2024 - Good morning, Afternoon, Night - Veggie - 10-08-2024 Another tales from the supermarket - Aldi. As I pushed my trolley into the store, an elderly man came up and put his empty shopping bag in my trolley. He was saying something that I couldn't understand and I though that, maybe he wanted my trolley as he couldn't get one for himself. I asked him if he would like my trolley, and he looked horrified "I thought you were my wife!". I was still unsure whether he'd lost the plot, so I told him that I wasn't married. We laughed and I trundled off with my trolley. When I looked round to see if he was OK his wife had arrived. Admittedly, she had the same white hair as me and wasn't very tall, however, she must have been in her 90s! I had a chat with them and told her she should keep an eye on him as he'd been chatting me up. He's always like that, she said, I can't control him - to which he said, "I'm 96 you know". I'm sure I've met a 96 year old man in Aldi before - either that or all the oldies shop there. I'm very tempted to comment on the 90's age scenario but thought I'd be rude I hope I'm able to get to the shops when I'm 96. RE: 2024 - Good morning, Afternoon, Night - Veggie - 11-08-2024 You rude?? Never. He should have gone to Specsavers. RE: 2024 - Good morning, Afternoon, Night - JJB - 11-08-2024 At least you still had your trolley. Someone went off with mine once, gave me a right old panic skittering round tescos looking for a purloined trolley full of my groceries. RE: 2024 - Good morning, Afternoon, Night - Mark_Riga - 19-09-2024 Had a day in Llandudno yesterday and stopped for a cup of tea. RE: 2024 - Good morning, Afternoon, Night - Mark_Riga - 20-09-2024 Actually, when we went in that cafe the smell of the fat from cooking pancakes put us off. But we found a very nice cake shop just round the corner that specialised in house plants. They had a very large selection, hanging down from the ceiling and all round the shop and tables, much more appropriate. I'll have a good look round next time we visit. https://www.facebook.com/botanicalbabee/ RE: 2024 - Good morning, Afternoon, Night - Veggie - 20-09-2024 That looks inviting. Plants and cakes, - what could be better?. RE: 2024 - Good morning, Afternoon, Night - JJB - 10-10-2024 I was reading John Harrison's blog this morning and he recommended looking at an artist's Web page. I was blown away by the art and detail. Have a look for yourself. https://www.liamofarrell.com/ |
