A lot of the whitewashed houses in Greece have blue doors. Whilst looking for an image I found this

When I was in Central Turkey I was told that is the colour people paint their doors to show they have completed a Hajj to Mecca.

Our front wooden 1928 door is chartwell green (you'll all know it), out back composite door is navy blue.
