RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - JJB - 25-08-2022 Not 'Four Candles' .....fork handles?? RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - Veggie - 26-08-2022 G is for Gardening Books - 2 huge Reader's Digest ones that are a struggle to pick up, never mind read! RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - Veggie - 16-01-2023 I didn't get very far with this!! Surprise, surprise. ![]() Today's declutter involves the downstairs "flooded" cloakroom - posh name for an understairs space with a washbasin, toilet and 3 cupboards that have had to be emptied and dried off. Here are some of the surprising items I've found:- An Iron! Three bottles of Turkish Lemon Cologne (always brought some home from my travels but haven't been to Turkey for 20+ years). A bottle of Elderberry wine - October 1991 Bottle of Belgian white beer - drink by 15/5/2010 Multiple Bags for Life Lots of hessian & cotton fabric Bags for Life that are too small for a supermarket shop but I can't bear to part with! Several bottles of Liqueurs, unopened - the sort you bring back from holidays but have no wish to drink - like the Tunisian Date Liqueur. A pair of spotty wellies that aren't comfortable for more than 5 minutes. Countless First aid items - bandages, dressings, plasters. In an emergency, the patient would have died before I found these. I'm never sure whether to take the expiry date seriously when they're in a sealed pack? I'll spare you the rest of the clutter.
RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - JJB - 16-01-2023 Sounds familiar, I've several cupboards like that. RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - Veggie - 15-10-2025 An Alphabet of Clutter Part 2. Tomorrow, This starts again..........and its A. Are you ready? ![]() Feel free to list your own Clutter and whether you have any plans for it. Reuse, Reorganise, Repurpose etc are all acceptable plans! RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - Veggie - 16-10-2025 A for Advantage Flea treatment for dogs. GIven to me but I wouldn't use it on Ted. - anyway, he's too heavy/fat for the dosage! Its been collected by another dog owner. A for Avocado box where I keep the stones to germinate. Haven't looked in there for a while, so was surprised to find that there were no sprouting avocados.........but there were 4 pieces of ginger that were well sprouted and rooted. I'll pot those up tomorrow - and throw away the box they were in. A for "Anti-Anxiety Journal" - must have picked that up with some other free books as I would never buy a book like that. Its in the "Book giveaway pile" now. Not a lot of As but its three less bits of clutter than I had yesterday. RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - Small chilli - 16-10-2025 I couldn’t think of any A’s. Hope to join in with some of the letters. RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - JJB - 17-10-2025 Clutter, I've not got clutter all those useless items are very useful and I know if they get thrown ill only need them next week. But I'll have a look. RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - Veggie - 17-10-2025 B is for Bags. I have loads of Bags for Life and plastic supermarket bags and I only ever use my favourite ones! Time to sort out the dross and rehome the them. RE: An Alphabet of Clutter - Veggie - 17-10-2025 (17-10-2025, 11:18 AM)Veggie Wrote: B is for Bags. There were less than I thought which probably means there's load of them in the car, just in case I go shopping/collecting! I'll take the unwanted carrier bags to the corner shop as they collect them for the Foodbank to use when bagging up Food parcels. B is also for Books, of course, so I've added more to my heap for the next Free book event - could be tomorrow? Also emptied the dregs from a Bottle of Baby Shampoo, after washing my hair, of course. Put the dregs in the hand wash soap dispenser. |
