Stupid question part 2 about lifting bulbs.
I’ve lifted them this afternoon and going to be replanting into more fish boxes. Do I cut off the last of the leaves & stems?
Second stupid question is a couple came up but left their roots behind. Will they still come back next year or do I not both planting them?
I’ve got quite a few! They were definitely ready for splitting!

Personally I'd leave the stems and leaves on them, but I don't know if that's technically, scientifically correct to do. Sorry. Those without roots might not make it, but I'd give them the chance to prove themselves lol

I'd let the leaves die back naturally because it's all food for the bulb. Those which lost their roots, as long as the base of the bulb itself is not damaged they should be fine. After all, they don't have roots showing when you buy them.

This Autumn I layered my autumn bulb planting. Hyacinths and Crocus. That way, the hyacinths come in Jun/July but the crocus will come in March ?
