RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - Farendwoman - 03-01-2021 Wouldn’t mind an extra pack of chillies please, if you’ve got some going spare. And thanks from me too got organising all this. RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - PyreneesPlot - 05-01-2021 Sadly I'll not be taking part until there is more clarity about the rules for sending seeds between the UK and EU. Have fun everyone - looking forward to seeing your results RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - Clare - 05-01-2021 I'm interested in swapping seeds please. I have mainly cottage garden flowers. I should have: Coreopsis Salvia seascape Verbena Evergreen dark pink antirrhinum Large banana colour flowering Vanilla wisely nemesia Hyssops White Astrantia Dark pink Astrantia Clary sage Orange cosmos Madame butterfly antirrhinum Lemonade cosmos Apricot lemonade cosmos white & pink stripe cosmos Nasturtium Orchid flame Hollyhock dark crimson Variegated leaf nasturtium I am pretty sure i will have some other seeds and salvia's sees as I grow a fair few of these, but managing to catch the seeds before they drop is a challenge RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - Veggie - 05-01-2021 Hi Clare, we'll be running another seed swap later this year and you'd be very welcome to join us. I'm just closing the current one, once the last package arrives (tomorrow I hope) so, unless your seeds are packed up and ready to post, you're too late, sorry. Save your seeds throughout the year and we'll have a mega swap in the autumn. RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - Small chilli - 05-01-2021 Nice list Clare . Keep them for the next one. I’d like to grow lot of those. I’m now off to google most of them . He said as far as he was aware - at the moment we could still send seeds out and maybe it would change in 3 months time? I really would like to know how it is going to work. RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - Veggie - 05-01-2021 Real Seeds posted this today :- We've had a fair number of customers in Northern Ireland asking why we aren't shipping there right now. We just wanted to make it clear that this is not our choice in any way, but is a result of the Brexit deal. Right now, no exports of vegetable seed are allowed at all, either to the EU, or to Northern Ireland. This will change once 'equivalence' of regulations is agreed, hopefully fairly soon. But, even once this happens, because there is free movement of plant & seed material throughout the island of Ireland it means that all the plant health border requirements have now moved effectively to the middle of the Irish sea. As a result even when it is theoretically allowed we would have to provide a phytosanitary certificate with each order which is just not viable for retail orders. Hopefully at some point this may change, but it is unlikely to be different in the near future - it’s a problem for the seed and seed potato industry as a whole. There's more info on the DEFRA website RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - PyreneesPlot - 05-01-2021 (05-01-2021, 10:56 PM)Scarlet Wrote:(05-01-2021, 12:36 PM)PyreneesPlot Wrote: Sadly I'll not be taking part until there is more clarity about the rules for sending seeds between the UK and EU.I went to the post office the other day and asked about it. He said as far as he was aware - at the moment we could still send seeds out and maybe it would change in 3 months time? I've had an email from one UK seed company citing the cost of the phytosanitary certification required by non EU companies to supply into the single market at 125€ a variety which is clearly unprofitable. I have brought in small quantities from the USA for personal use in the past, so hopefully seed swapping will be able to continue. It is going to take many months for all the regulations to be sorted ☹ RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - Veggie - 09-01-2021 (02-01-2021, 03:05 PM)Veggie Wrote: Just to get you all excited, I've been counting the seeds that I've received so far - seed packets, not individual seeds!!The GOOD news is............Scarlet's seeds have arrived. That's another 20+ packets for everyone, Provided I don't run out of sellotape, I'll aim to post them back to you all on Monday. I'm sure you'll all be delighted with your collection. Thanks for playing. RE: 2020 Seed Swap Circles - Small chilli - 09-01-2021 Yeah something to look forward to. I’m very excited.
