RE: Veggie's random garden - Veggie - 14-03-2023 [attachment=5930][attachment=5931][attachment=5932][attachment=5933][attachment=5934][attachment=5935] A few random photos to remind me of what the Veg End looks like in March. Hoping for big changes soon. RE: Veggie's random garden - Small chilli - 14-03-2023 I know I say it every year . I can’t believe how green everything is in your garden, this time of year! It looks great can’t wait to see what changes you make RE: Veggie's random garden - Veggie - 14-03-2023 [attachment=5936] This bit doesn't look very green! Won't be long before the fruit trees are in bud though. The peach trees have started flowering, cherry and pear buds won't be long, then the apples, quince and medlar. I love this time of year. Every wander around the garden finds something new coming out of winter drabness, putting its spring clothes on. RE: Veggie's random garden - JJB - 15-03-2023 It will be interesting to see your plans taking shape. RE: Veggie's random garden - Veggie - 19-04-2023 [attachment=6179][attachment=6178] What a difference a month makes. RE: Veggie's random garden - Scarlet - 19-04-2023 Looks lovely VC... Im going to tey this. I read yesterday PP did the same. Bit sure if I will remember to do it but Im going to give it a go RE: Veggie's random garden - Veggie - 19-04-2023 I try to take 3 photos from the same locations each month (when I remember), looking down the 3 main paths. I take these paths for granted, wandering down them most days, and don't pay them a lot of attention. The photos show me how much they change over time. Just small daily changes that I haven't noticed because, usually, I'm just walking from the house to the far end, on a mission, not observing. RE: Veggie's random garden - Veggie - 19-04-2023 [attachment=6181] This is the same view a year ago, when there were 2 plum trees beside the path. They were cut down last year because they were diseased - you can see the stump in today's photo. RE: Veggie's random garden - Veggie - 03-05-2023 [attachment=6278] Do you remember the "pond"? Its almost drained out now. I've rescued as many tadpoles as I can. I think I'll spend the rest of this year getting the hole ready for planting in 2024. Its going to take a while to find enough material to fill the hole as I have no plans to buy any soil/compost. [attachment=6279] This is part of the back "hedge" where the hazels have been cut down (again). RE: Veggie's random garden - Veggie - 16-05-2023 [attachment=6380][attachment=6376][attachment=6377][attachment=6378][attachment=6379][attachment=6375] Instead of photos of beds, let's have photos of paths. OK, some of them aren't obviously paths and they're all overgrown, so its easy to get lost. Apart from the 2 main paths that run, almost straight, from one end of the garden to the other, the rest form a network that only I understand - and that's only 30% of the time. . In winter, when the leaves have fallen and everything is open and bare, its not so easy to get lost, but now, its wonderful. Full of secret passages! I want to create little openings in some beds, like a keyhole garden, with a single path in and, maybe a seat, or pot or funny statue/gnome in it to show that I've arrived. |
