RE: Favourite pies. - Veggie - 01-02-2021 I don't make pies as I'm hopeless at making pastry and can never find a clear, clean space to roll out readymade. However, a long, long time ago, when I was in junior school we had a cookery lesson or two - I can only remember making 2 things - Pinwheel biscuits and Bacon and Egg Saucer pie. My Father said it was delicious but he would have said anything to please me. He never asked me to make it again though. I vaguely remember the recipe - a saucer, lined with pastry, part cooked, then a slice of bacon laid on the pastry and an egg broken over the top and put back in the oven till cooked. Sounds disgusting.
