Do you know breed? That will make a difference to how much space they take up

RE: Sheep's fleeces - Small chilli - 21-01-2021

When shearing fleece get rolled and bagged. Bags are a little bigger than ton bags. And depending on breed. Hold 18 - 40 fleeces .
Handy living with a shepherd........ sometimes

They're probably standard Welsh Mountain sheep if they're local ones. I can see them grazing on the hillside - sometimes they're outside my back fence, annoying the dogs.

Bob must actually be doing some work he’s not replayed to my question yet.
Just thought you could use so for extra insulation around mr greedy. Stuff it between him & his cardboard box. And you could insulate other things.

Someone on the FB thread said that its used for mud control in horse fields, so I'm wondering if I could use some on the muddiest paths here..............or in the chook run..............or whether you could grow spuds in it...............and put a layer in the bottom of the tomato & courgette pots............

Bob’s expect options 450 fleece are going to take up a LOT of space. You’re better off going to have a chat with you sheep farmer and offer him £10 for 50 fleece, when he shears next. Fleece really isn’t worth very much these days.

I have put a fleeces on the compost heap a few years ago when we had a few sheep. It just disappeared into the pile. Dalefoot compost is a mixture of sheep's wool and bracken and thy sell that for a lot of money.

Chickens might get their feet tangled in it.

Do I have room for 450 fleeces.???

Veggie what about shoving them in a GH ?

Many moons ago I went to the Wool Marketing Board's place in Mid Wales where they received the fleeces, weighed and graded it, paid the farmers and packed the wool into huge bales to be sold on to textile companies.
One of the Graders showed me round and, to my amazement, asked me to hold his hand!! For a weather beaten old chap, his hands were as soft as a babies. He told me that the the lanolin in the wool, that he handled daily, kept his skin soft!!............So I must ask, are Bob's hands soft? Smile
