RE: Hardening off - Veggie - 04-01-2021 The trees are bare here now. You have to garden to your conditions - if fleece helps you, that's good. For me, there's no point -it would get trashed by dogs and chickens pretending it was their plaything! I plant when I'm ready and it feels right. If I'm wrong and the plants die, they're wimps and I don't need them. RE: Hardening off - Mark_Riga - 04-01-2021 Hazel trees are still 'active' here. I just trimmed a hazel hedge and there were a few green leaves in one patch and in the corner where I let it grow, there are quite a few catkins now. RE: Hardening off - JJB - 05-01-2021 I was pruning several clematis (clemati?? ) yesterday as they had started to sprout and shoot. I think it might have been a bit early but last year I forgot/left it too late and they went rampant. |
