RE: What do you call these? - Scarlet - 11-12-2020 Actually Jimny I believe your wife is correct Sometimes a bap here too NG! Though had to stop using it as the boys always laughed! RE: What do you call these? - Veggie - 11-12-2020 Having asked around No 1 is a Breadcake in Yorkshire. For me, a Bap has a soft crust, Cob has a hard crust, a Roll is shaped like a sausage and a Teacake has fruit in it. RE: What do you call these? - JJB - 11-12-2020 I'd say a bap was larger in circumference than a roll, and agree a teacake has fruit, very nice toasted. RE: What do you call these? - Vinny - 11-12-2020 I would call the first one a 'bread bun' or if it was a bit bigger a 'stottie' RE: What do you call these? - Vinny - 11-12-2020 Round here fish and chips are 'A fish and a bag'. I once asked for that in Blackpool and was given a fish in a bag! RE: What do you call these? - Mark_Riga - 11-12-2020 1. roll, bun or bap depending on size/shop 2. Dressing Gown 3. back passage/alley or sometimes gunnel 4. crust RE: What do you call these? - PyreneesPlot - 11-12-2020 Bap (OH says roll) Dressing Gown Alley (OH says ginnel) Crust (OH says I'm not eating that you have it) RE: What do you call these? - JJB - 11-12-2020 (11-12-2020, 05:42 PM)PyreneesPlot Wrote: Bap (OH says roll)What about in French PP? RE: What do you call these? - Veggie - 11-12-2020 The Crust is the bit that makes your hair curl - that's how my mother persuaded us to eat it. PP, try it on your OH. I hated my curly hair but that didn't stop my Mum making me eat crusts. |
