Thought so. Cool I used to know every word of the Teddy Ruxpin adventures when my kids were growing up. I also remember my eldest Son leaping around the room shouting "I have the power" with a plastic sword in his hand! Big Grin

It was Transformers in our house. Their catch phrase was 'Transformers, more than meets the eye'. It came out as 'morfen meefy I' from our young lad. Still gets shouted at the TV occasionally. He's over 30 now and still watches Thundercats!

Bit the bullet and cut open the Sharks Fin melon today, expecting to find a dried up husk after three years sitting on the window sill.
Far from it, it was full of moisture and the flesh is solid around the edge. Loads of seeds harvested which once I dry out a bit I will see if they germinate.
Has anyone actually eaten a sharksfin melon?  Huh

I tried a bit raw and it was fairly tasteless with a strange aftertaste. Apparently in sharksfin melon soup you boil it for three hours with pork or chicken and its enjoyed because of its fibrous texture rather than its taste. I just wounder whether the bitter aftertaste would disappear after cooking?

I may give it a try in soup with a bit of chicken stock as it is esteemed by some. Smile

It will also be interesting to see if the seeds germinate. I imagine the black ones are the ripe ones?

Finally!!! Welcome to the world Baby shark Smile
i think you test the viability of cucurbit seeds by putting them in water - those that sink are viable, not the floaters. Try a few of each colour and see if there's a difference.
