RE: Cooking / Using Runners - Vinny - 14-10-2020 My Czar and Gigantes beans are still growing and flowering. There are lots of beans hanging there, but as I want to eat the bean and not the pod I am just letting them get on with it and they will hopefully dry on plant? I have never grown runners for seed so I am not sure whether I am doing right or not.....but it seems logical? RE: Cooking / Using Runners - Veggie - 14-10-2020 Weather permitting they'll dry on the plant. I pick the pods when they turn brown/papery/leathery and bring them indoors for a few days to finish off - then have great satisfaction in popping them out of their pods. Then I spread the beans out on paper and put them on windowsill n the sun to dry off. RE: Cooking / Using Runners - Bren - 14-10-2020 With all this wet weather mine seems to be taking ages to dry. |
