What sort of gardening do you enjoy, veg growing, giant veg, specialise (obsess over) in a particular variety or is it flowers, cut flowers, just love all of it?
We need to know everything, we’re very nosy.
Tend to dabble in a bit of everything but there's nothing better than flowering plants from dahlias to roses etc
But can't imagine not having a small veggie growing area and lots of herbs in a garden. This one also comes with some mature fruit trees, a mix of apples, pears and cherries, will have to identify eventually as we viewed it in February last year so no leaves to go by.
Also a massive empty pond is left by the previous owners and will have to be dealt with...really don't need it to be this big.
We're in Penmaenmawr btw and love the proximity to both sea and mountains. Just great to be away from chaos of a big city.
I'll add some pictures to give an idea of the space further down the thread.

Used to spend my summers in Greece with my grandparents and they used to be farmers so have lots of time for veggies but in my years in the UK have been more of an ornamentals guy but it was great to have a couple of years at an allotment to remind me how much hard work is required fighting weather and invasive plants
removed three bins worth of bramble so far, the previous owners were the hedge trimmer type gardeners, so it will be an ongoing fight to get rid of them alongside some St John's Wort that seems to be popping up in quite a few inappropriate places. Do like a challenge

And just to give you an idea of the challenge ahead, a few pics of the garden as we found it.
The massive pond has to become smaller...a potager will be started in the lawn in front of the summerhouse and probably the two palms nearby will get the chop alongside a massive towering conifer that is really out of place and is also obstructing the passage of larger vehicles on our lane.

I will have to do that soon... probably will spend the year making those veg beds and starting work on a small rose garden in the other lawn. Probably better to separate them as projects and see if anyone has any suggestions on them.

Hi PotsAndPlants, welcome to the forum.
I have fond memories of North Wales, it was our go-to day trip destination when I was a child on Wirral. In fact I scattered my mother's ashes on the slopes of Moel Famau.
Love the pictures of your new garden, what a beautiful spot! You're going to have great fun making the space your own, I bet you can't wait to get stuck in.
I think one of the first structural things I would do is replace that fence at the bottom of the garden with something more transparent. I'd want to try and make the garden merge visually with the beautiful landscape beyond instead of blocking it out. That's after sorting out the pond, the deck, the brambles... So many thoughts, aren't new gardens exciting!
