RE: Ticks - Roitelet - 04-05-2023 Not tweezers you must not squash them. Ask the Vet for the Tic Twisters. I also think it is going to be a bad year for the b*******s! I have taken lots off the cats already not to mention more than one off me! RE: Ticks - Veggie - 04-05-2023 There are some special tick tweezers that grip below the tick's body - like these https://www.boots.com/life-systems-tick-tweezers-10257920 RE: Ticks - Small chilli - 05-05-2023 I use these. O'tom Tick Twister https://amzn.eu/d/9uaCm7G It’s a very odd sensation removing them. It doesn’t hurt, it’s just weird. RE: Ticks - Knotty - 05-05-2023 We always have the bent fork type ones. RE: Ticks - SarrissUK - 05-05-2023 I've heard american friends talk about foggers for their gardens... maybe something like this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/CritterKill-Professional-Strength-Fogger-Fumigator/dp/B01GPXVVJO/ref=asc_df_B01GPXVVJO/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309920133577&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9703305484832848830&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9180655&hvtargid=pla-683901289436&th=1 Or a spray? https://www.removepests.co.uk/products/agro-c-advanced-insect-killer-spray?variant=40723809730757¤cy=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_campaign=gs-2022-01-13&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0tKiBhC6ARIsAAOXutl4K9gMkYSJBEH3OdiGMMZV4WhQ_rS3NAHKJJm8aA-f-vOGOMsthgoaApyMEALw_wcB I might try that bottom one actually, for the garden. Anyone know how dangerous these things are? RE: Ticks - Can the Man - 11-05-2023 My old dad always used iodine on the tick, it caused the tick to shrivel up and die and then head and body could be brushed off the animal. My wife had Lyme disease and was not diagnosed for several years, we think she may have caught it in Singapore or Thailand when we were on holiday, it took over 2 years of treatments with antibiotics and various other homeopathic treatments to get rid of it. She suffered from sever fatigue for years, still suffers some with it, but I think the current fatigue is Covid related, she had it twice despite being vaccinated. Sounds horrendous Can, I'll keep an eye out for ticks. RE: Ticks - Can the Man - 11-05-2023 Always have your trousers tucked into your sock, and keep your arms covered, wear light coloured clothes they are easier to spot when they jump of the vegetation onto clothes looking for blood and skin |
