RE: New bed - Scarlet - 14-04-2023 I always underplant roses with lupins or aliums and or salvia. As its a rambler its not repeat flowering so I would add several clematis to climb with it to extend the season. RE: New bed - Small chilli - 14-04-2023 Ooh that’s a lovely dark red one. I’ve got a bright red with white inside. Love that peach rose as well. That clematis is lovely growing in amongst the rose. I could do that . RE: New bed - Scarlet - 14-04-2023 I lost all my penstemon cuttings this winter the ones in the garden haven't sprouted yet... if they are all gone i will just buy in some new young plants and take cuttings. I love peach and the dark purple... I think it maybe raven or blackberry. Growing from cuttings in the greenhouse over winter, they will flower in the autumn and fill in your gaps. Lupins are short lived here. I start new every year but they flower the same time as roses. O love euphorbias.... poppies may fill in your gaps? |
