RE: Weed??? - Veggie - 21-03-2023 Hemlock has purple blotches on the stem which is round. Cow parsley has a ridged stem and is shaped like celery with a groove down the underside. It can have purple stems but they're like a colour wash, not spotted. Hemlock is deadly - just saying! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCMCwa3I1T4 RE: Weed??? - Farendwoman - 21-03-2023 Thank you Veggie Other than scaring me that video hasn’t helped me identify it. Fortunately I wasn’t going to eat it - or put it my other half’s sandwiches! RE: Weed??? - Veggie - 21-03-2023 I read somewhere that Cow parsley smells of aniseed while Hemlock smells unpleasant. I rubbed a bit of Cow Parsley and, whilst not smelling of aniseed it didn't smell unpleasant. Not tempted to eat it though! RE: Weed??? - Scarlet - 21-03-2023 Milk parsley? Selinum https://www.sarahraven.com/products/selinum-wallichianum Looks familiar to me - sure I have this somewhere RE: Weed??? - Farendwoman - 22-03-2023 I reckon that’s it Scarlet. Thank you . And well done RE: Weed??? - MartinH - 22-03-2023 That's a nice looking plant. I might try growing it.
