Toasted marmite and cheese would have had a better response.

Noo, I don't think so. It's all just so wrong.

That’s the go to meal when we can’t be bothered cooking or have forgotten to get anything out of the freezer. It’s just the best.

Me no understand  Huh
Didn't realise snide was a northern term used to denote false dodgy items only? Usually used for named clothing made cheaply. A snide(fake) North Face jacket for instance.

Thanks, Vinny. We speak a different language Big Grin "Snide" is nasty, sly remark, comment down here.
Going back to Marmite - I've bought the Morries one as its cheaper. Tastes much the same as the real thing, perhaps a little less bitey.

The Sainsbury's own brand version is fine, it's probably all made in the same factory and the recipe can't differ that much. They set them up to hate the stuff in that video, can't imagine I'd much enjoy a load of it smeared onto fresh bread either. Where it shines is in smaller amounts, bringing out flavours of other foods.

Marmite needs butter, in my view, whether its on fresh bread or toast.

RE: Tribal People Try - Vinny - 11-12-2022

Did I imagine this or have I  a memory of toast, marge & marmite soldiers to  dip into a boiled egg yolk when I was a nipper? Huh

RE: Tribal People Try - Veggie - 11-12-2022

Dunno, Vinnie, I didn't know you when you were a nipper. Big Grin

I always have Marmite on my toast when I have poached eggs.
Veggie you need butter to block up those holes in bread otherwise you end up spreading to much Marmite.
