RE: 2023 - Pumpkin competition - doublyjonah - 08-10-2023 It's all done here. I checked the yellow stem on the pumpkin and it was going spongy instead of woody, so I brought the little chap home. 14.55 kg (32 pounds) About 106 cm (42 inches) around the sides About 109 cm (43 inches) around top and bottom at widest point RE: 2023 - Pumpkin competition - Veggie - 08-10-2023 Well done, DJ. That's fantastic You're all set for Halloween now.! Did you wheel it home in a pushchair? RE: 2023 - Pumpkin competition - doublyjonah - 08-10-2023 (08-10-2023, 01:39 PM)Veggie Wrote: Well done, DJ. I have a photo but can't upload from my phone RE: 2023 - Pumpkin competition - Veggie - 08-10-2023 You disappoint me. I was hoping to see the pumpkin with a lacy bonnet on, smiling at passersby . I’m still holding out hope that mine is still growing. But I’m being delusional. The parent plant is definitely giving up. And I’m only watering a couple of times a week as the humidity is so high but not very warm in the tunnel. I'm eagerly awaiting results from everyone. RE: 2023 - Pumpkin competition - Small chilli - 08-10-2023 You’ll be waiting a while for mine I’m not going anywhere until this horrendous weather goes away. RE: 2023 - Pumpkin competition - JJB - 08-10-2023 Piglet is in the gh probably gasping in the 25° heat (and that's outside the gh). I keep forgetting to get the luggage scales from the loft. He's nowhere near 14kg, DJ you're definitely in the running to be winner, unless River likes the rain. DJ did yours ever get named? I m not carving mine for Halloween, not a lot of point for us two boring old f**ts. I'm looking forward to some pumpkin soup though. RE: 2023 - Pumpkin competition - Small chilli - 09-10-2023 Little firefly has been harvested. Taken last measurement’s. He has grown since last time. 96cm circumference, 75cm over the midday, 74cm top to tail . Using the calculator 12kg. Using the bathroom scale 9.5kg . So don’t know which one is more out (bathroom scales really aren’t that accurate). I’ll try to remember to weigh & record every time I use some of him. Kitchen scales are much better, but only go up to 5kg. Then add them all up at the end. But what ever he actually weighs doesn’t really matter. I’m very happy with him . Still want to try for bigger next year [attachment=7136] RE: 2023 - Pumpkin competition - Veggie - 09-10-2023 Welcome to G&G Firefly. Whatever weight you are, you're a big boy. |
