RE: 2022 - What I did today - Vinny - 11-02-2022 Not what i did, but what I hope to get done today is tidy out and clean my Corsa so I can use it as a part exchange on a Landrover Defender 90. I think the 90 will be more suitable for me and Kato as it doesn't matter if it gets dirtied up. Landovers are expected to be covered with crud both inside and out! RE: 2022 - What I did today - Proserpina - 11-02-2022 This week I am on my first full week of annual leave since June (I had one random day in December and one in January). There are so many things I want to be doing in the garden and house. Outside, I really want to get the paving slabs lifted, a proper compost area, finish cleaning the greenhouse, and get some beds started. However, I have an exam in a couple of weeks, so I have spent most of my week revising instead. I think I am going to go and put on some warm clothes and spend half an hour out there now as a break, but that may be all the time I manage this week as the blooming exam isn't going to pass itself! It won't be a huge disaster if I put fruit bushes in the ground a bit late, will it? I have some gooseberries and a currant or two in containers. What about rhubarb? The area I want to put those things is currently underneath the paving slabs, so might take quite a while to get ready, and time I don't have right now! RE: 2022 - What I did today - Veggie - 11-02-2022 Your fruit will be fine in containers - if they're large enough! If not, move them into bigger pots until you're ready to plant out Autumn is a good time when they're dormant. RE: 2022 - What I did today - JJB - 11-02-2022 I've spent the morning sorting next door's tech out. He bought a little indoor security camera and expected it to work straight out of the box. All sorted, although I'm not too sure how useful he'll find it. RE: 2022 - What I did today - JJB - 11-02-2022 Transplanted toms. Tumbling Tom Red, Tumbling Tom Yellow (which last year urged out to be red ) There's also some stumpy red robins not needing moving. Once again I don't need all these tumblers but didn't have the heart to put some in the compost bin, so they've all got a chance....until they get too big and get moved to gh and get frosted [attachment=4445] [attachment=4446] Without lights with lights RE: 2022 - What I did today - Veggie - 11-02-2022 All of the bamboo has been cut down and some of it burnt. I need to move the rest down to the end of the garden where the firepit is. Next is the hard part, digging up the roots! Also weeded most of the rockery and Dug up more Montbretia. Took some accidental Marjoram cuttings too. That's 4 of this weeks 7 jobs ticked. RE: 2022 - What I did today - SarrissUK - 11-02-2022 Nothing much apart from taking some cardboard out to the shed, which has only one purpose, to hold cardboard lol In all fairness, I have planned for taking my huge greenhouse down tomorrow - did I mention it? It's 8x8ft and I'm bringing home the glass tomorrow, and taking down the panels for collection with a van on Sunday RE: 2022 - What I did today - Spec - 11-02-2022 I have been considering making a fire for the greenhouse, after removing the one I had in it and giving it to my son, over the past few months I have found the greenhouse to cold to work in, so decided I would look into making another fire, but when I totalled up the materials and considered the work involved I decided to find out what a second hand log burner would cost, found one at a price I was willing to pay, so now have a fire back in the greenhouse and it works a treat Prose. consider yourself lucky getting a weeks annual leave, some of us, as Vinny has shown don't get days off RE: 2022 - What I did today - SarrissUK - 11-02-2022 Spec, I've never even considered having a fire in a greenhouse... please tell me more. Is this a regular way for you to heat it up? What about smoke? Are you able to regulate the temperature so it doesn't get TOO hot? RE: 2022 - What I did today - MartinH - 11-02-2022 I pricked out a tray of Antirrhinum seedlings, pruned the roses I planted last week and moved some herbaceous perennials that are resting in the bed I want to plant three more roses I ordered yesterday. |
