RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - JJB - 05-11-2023 I've got busy lizzies, marigolds, tagetes, gazania, salvia, dahlia, Japanese anenome, begonia tuberous & fibrous, antirrhinum, penstemon, sedum, cyclamen, polyanthus, yellow buddleia and a couple of roses. Admittedly all are a bit confused by the weather, bedraggled and neglected. I may have a single tomato flower on a forgotten plant in the gh, does that count? Also a rather magnificent Christmas cactus indoors. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - Mark_Riga - 17-11-2023 Spotted a clematis still in flower yesterday and Viburnum × bodnantense is flowering - difficult to spot as it was underneath an apple tree but has now escaped and spends most of its time flowering in the canopy. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - Veggie - 17-11-2023 I have Zephirine Drouhin roses in flower - forgot to add those to my list. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - Veggie - 21-11-2023 I can add Camellia to my List now. Its always in flower by Christmas but is earlier than ever this year. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - JJB - 02-12-2023 December's flowers are few and far between here. Outdoors a couple of polyanthus, winter jasmine and a very sad and cold straggly antirrhinum. Indoors a Christmas cactus and P's phalaenopsis (rescued from the empty house nextdoor) has one flower on an old flower spike and two new flower spikes growing. It's making a special effort because he talks to it. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - Small chilli - 02-12-2023 Pansy Lupin Carnations Fuchsia Lupins & carnations really not happy with the frost. Unsurprisingly. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - JJB - 02-12-2023 Oooh, I forgot pansies. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - Veggie - 14-12-2023 Camellia Hellebore Fuchsias Schizostylus Calendula. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - Mark_Riga - 03-01-2024 Dahpne, Hellebores, Viburnum × bodnantense, and Sarcococca all highly scented. And on a walk on Monday round the Peckforton Hills, there was plenty of gorse flowering. Before Christmas, in the nearby village of Bunbury, there were daffodils flowering in the verges. RE: What's in flower on 1st of month? - JJB - 04-01-2024 I could only find winter jasmine and polyanthus, with a leftover tagetes in the gh. |
