I''ve no idea really!I’ll give you that, that’s close enough for me. It’s our MVHR (mechanical ventilation heat recovery) RE: The build - Small chilli - 09-10-2025 Here’s the main unit and some of the pipe work unpacked. [attachment=8534] Anyone any good at jigsaw puzzles? Instructions are a little on the vague side. RE: The build - Veggie - 09-10-2025 OF course!! I remember now. The MVHR. How could I forget. There seemed to be so much stuff on the trailer, I didn't recognise it. ![]() RE: The build - JJB - 09-10-2025 The black wrapping threw me. P is all excited and keen to hear all about it. RE: The build - Veggie - 10-10-2025 Luckily, Bob has a Big trailer or he'd have come home wearing the pipes like a scarf. ![]() RE: The build - Small chilli - 10-10-2025 (10-10-2025, 09:59 AM)Veggie Wrote: Luckily, Bob has a Big trailer or he'd have come home wearing the pipes like a scarf.Surprisingly we still have to borrow the farm stock trailer to go pick up our sound proofing insulation soon. Because that trailer isn’t big enough. RE: The build - Bob - 10-10-2025 (09-10-2025, 11:31 PM)JJB Wrote: The black wrapping threw me. P is all excited and keen to hear all about it.For P So the mvhr is a ventilation system. The house is well sealed so we need to ventilate it, on less sealed houses this would be done with trickle vents above the windows. So the idea is to pump air in from outside at a certain rate (from memory it's about 0.5 air changes/hour) So rather than filling the house with cold air an mvhr takes warm, wet air from areas like the kitchen and bathroom and passes this air through a heat exchanger thus warming the cold, dry outside air and recovering the heating which would potentially be lost. In theory this unit will pay for itself eventually but I think the time period is really very high ?? RE: The build - Small chilli - 10-10-2025 Any questions the tec nerd is always available.
