Rain and hail here today.

Gusty winds today.

A balmy 12 degrees, still dull and grubby though. Rain all day yesterday just damp today.

Wet and windy - not at all tempting.

Hissing down & windy and far too mild.

It's been around or below zero here for a long time now, and only today has it gone above into plus figures. Positively balmy at 6 degrees today!

is it a nice, dry, cold or a damp, bone aching one, like here?

RE: 2025 - How's your weather today? - SarrissUK - 23-02-2025

When it's below freezing, Veggie, it's a lovely dry cold. It's when it's just above freezing and windy that it really kills ya.

Thanks, Sarriss! I'm always curious about the weather elsewhere in the world. It stops me whingeing about all the rain here at the moment!

We definitely don't get as much rain here as the UK does, or at least it doesn't feel like we do. More snow though, definitely. And we have far less damp here too. That's possibly more obvious to me because our house in the UK was not terribly well ventilated, and that's not great for a brick house... Here we have lived in two houses that are 150 year old and entirely made from wood. These houses breathe in a completely different way and it's far better for our health.
A benefit of getting snow here is that we can track the wild life, and so far we have seen tracks of rabbit, hare, although not many of them, lots of roe deer, some moose, one fox and quite a few wild boar. A wolf was spotted on a wildlife camera about two miles from here, but they are incredibly rare.
