X - a real Xmas tree, all piney and smelling of forests.

Y is for Yule log (chocolate one of course). Gooey, fudgey chocolatey coating over minimal chocolate sponge. I used to let myself buy only one before Christmas, knowing that they would be sold off cheaply afterwards. One year, they were so cheap I got a bit carried away and was still eating yule logs in March. Bit sick of them by then, to be honest. I'm more restrained now. Big Grin

Y is for yoghurt. I really don’t like the smell of it. I can now manage to eat small amounts of it but in other things like curries or it’s just one of the ingredients in a dip or dressing. Reminds me of Grandad, there wasn’t much he wouldn’t eat. Yoghurt was right up there. I can hear him now, it’s bloody horrible stuff!

Y

Yarrow? I'm not sure I remember rightly but I don't think I like the smell of yarrow.

Z is for I’ll see you on the next A-Z. Thanks for the entertainment.

I'm going to have a sniff of Z'atar in the pantry to see if I like the smell. From recollection I don't think it smells of anything, so it might be back to the drawing board.

Z is for Zest - Lemon or Orange. The Bright, fresh smell that hits your nose when you pare the skin of the fruit.
Z is also for Zebo used for "blackleading" cast iron stoves. I remember my Mum on her knees, trying to make the firegrate look presentable. We've done our woodburner a couple of times but I can't conjure up the smell at the moment.
