I'm going to list everything I've seen in March. Does anyone want to play again in April? RE: I-SPY Wildlife - A 6 a Day Challenge - Small chilli - 31-03-2026 Bird - raven Insect - water cricket [attachment=8777] Not a very good picture of a water cricket. But good enough for me to identify it. And realise I’ve been incorrectly calling them water boatmen for years. Not sure I’ve ever seen a water boatman now. I definitely want to play again in April. I’m loving this. It’s making me actually look for things and then learn what they are. My list for March A Bird - robin, buzzard , song thrush, great tit, chaffinch, wren, chicken, longtail tit, blackbird, house sparrow, hooded crow , female pheasant, heron , Oystercatcher , blue tit, cormorant , dunnock , stonechat, Siskin , whooper swans, yellow hammer, green finch, eider duck, Canada goose, lapwing, raven. A Butterfly or Moth (incuding caterpillar, chrysalis and imago)- micro moth, striped twin-spot carpet. Yellow horned (moth) , A Bee or Wasp- white tailed bumblebee , tree bumblebee, honey bee , bilberry bumblebee, heath bumblebee , early bumblebee, A Mollusc - dusky slug, common garden slug, common garden snail, white lipped snail, netted slug, An insect or spider - wood louse , European garden spider, tick, common crab spider, metellina segmentation spider, green bottle, crane fly, water cricket. Lamb, dab, stoat RE: I-SPY Wildlife - A 6 a Day Challenge - JJB - 31-03-2026 I think I saw a honey? bee sitting on young broad bean plants, it wasn't a bumble or bee fly but with no photo I'm struggling to identify it. RE: I-SPY Wildlife - A 6 a Day Challenge - JJB - 01-04-2026 Saw a muntjac deer in the field across the road yesterday and a worm whilst digging. A goldendoodle when out with the girls. |
