RE: Freecycle and similar websites - doublyjonah - 23-03-2024 Had to rent a car to collect it, but got a garden seating set for free from a FB gardening group. Also turned out to have a small wooden garden coffee table. We'll use the car for a quick day trip tomorrow to start Easter break, so all in all pleased. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 23-03-2024 A mixed collection today - a 5kg tub of Koi food, a carrier bag of crisps and 2 lots of mayonnaise. Must remember not to eat the fish food though I'm sure it would be tasty dipped in mayo! RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 24-03-2024 Collected a dustbin/wormery today. Weighed a ton as it was almost full of compost and worms! Apparently it was started 13 years ago so there should be some decent compost at the bottom. Looks like I'll be sieving compost again soon. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Small chilli - 26-03-2024 Got this beautiful piece today. [attachment=7435] It doesn’t work……luckily. Because if it did work I couldn’t do what I intended to do with it. It’s going to get turned into a unit for our bathroom sink to sit on. I’m still going to find it difficult to mess about with something with so much history. But it’s going to be loved and look great with (hopefully) when it’s done and has our Moroccan sink on it. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 27-03-2024 Very nice, SC. Seems to date from around 1929. https://www.radiomuseum.org/dsp_hersteller_detail.cfm?company_id=20628 RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 29-03-2024 Did a book swap yesterday - someone brought me a book and took away some of mine. Today I picked up an Ecomax compost bin. My cunning plan is to have bins dotted around the garden so that I can put garden waste straight in the bin without trekking it around the garden. This is my 4th bin. Haven't decided where to put it yet. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 30-03-2024 I went to the £5 Pantry today for a special Easter collection which included an Easter Egg, some homemade little cakes that looked like nests with eggs (the volunteer made 140 of them last night!) and a bunch of daffodils. Also picked up the usual potatoes, carrots, onions, lettuce, mushrooms, oranges, apples, bread, soft drinks, cakes and KFC. The unusual things were courgettes, 4 litres of milk, porridge oats, strawberry jam, parsley and chives in pots (now in the GH), green and red cabbage, broccoli and shower gel. That's my meals sorted for the week. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Small chilli - 30-03-2024 A bottle of white wine. Left in holiday cottage today. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Bren - 31-03-2024 Called in at the church came home with Teacakes, fruit loaf, an oat topped loaf and some kiwifruits. There was 5 bread trays and boxes of assorted breads, odd thing I've noticed there's never any sliced bread. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 31-03-2024 Someone on the Freebie site asked for some African Marigold seeds and offered sweetpea or broadbean seedlings or seeds as a swap. I swapped some seeds (that were FREE from Mr F last year) and although I asked for sweetpeas, he gave me some very healthy Aquadulce broadbean plants as well. |
