RE: 2023 - Wishful Thinking Advent Calendar - JJB - 18-12-2023 Door 18 'R' is a Roulade, usually called a roly around here to sound less pretentious. Most often chocolate but sometimes lemon. I always make one around Christmas or P's birthday on 3rd January. Its his idea of a birthday cake. RE: 2023 - Wishful Thinking Advent Calendar - Veggie - 18-12-2023 Behind the Rosewood Door is a Round Receptacle retaining Raspberries and some Raspberry canes that need planting! RE: 2023 - Wishful Thinking Advent Calendar - Small chilli - 18-12-2023 Behind door 18 is hoping for a Rain free day so Breeze can have a really fun day at work. (Him & Bob are beating at the pheasant shoot today). RE: 2023 - Wishful Thinking Advent Calendar - Vinny - 18-12-2023 Behind door 18 is a Reservoir full of trout, crying out to be caught! Simply stupendous.I thought you might find some seeds behind you door today . Not like either of us are predictable or anything RE: 2023 - Wishful Thinking Advent Calendar - JJB - 19-12-2023 Jumping on several bandwagons, mine's a Sequoia door brim full of seeds, not just any seeds though, specially selected seeds. That way I won't get any radishes or turnips. As an aside; why aren't we all 'Einsteins'? The things we, and by we, I mean I, look up on the Web means we have accessed far more information than we would have been able to than when we were younger. For example I looked up different types of wood beginning with Q and got quaruba wood, which I've never heard of. Surely some of the info is retained, so we must be more informed than our predecessors. Has the Internet improved our general knowledge? In my case I think I've probably forgotten more than I remember. RE: 2023 - Wishful Thinking Advent Calendar - Veggie - 19-12-2023 I have Einstein's hair but not his brains! In the good old days we'd have been searching for knowledge in printed encyclopaedia and dictionaries. Its all a bit too easy nowadays - I know, I'm old. RE: 2023 - Wishful Thinking Advent Calendar - Small chilli - 19-12-2023 Being awkward ( nothing new there then ) . You still have to research as in look for the same answer in several different places on the internet, social media, wherever. As not everything is entirely accurate. Because if it was I’ve already ready won a purple watering can in a competition that doesn’t close until the end on the month . |
