I’ll probably be back with more. Very difficult to decide.  Blush .
I’ll start with my monster Bombay bronze cockscomb [attachment=7859] [attachment=7860]

Not sure what this beetroot reminds me of.

It might be one of ther moles on the warpath that have been digging up the 'lawn'. I was mowing today and there was more covered with soil than grass. Its not very level now and impossible to mow to an even length.

and a bowl of freshly picked peas and first earlies with a cauliflower.

This was a volunteer snapdragon in amongst the veg that I thought was so pretty I saved it and gave it a pot of its own.

Something a bit on the wild side and it's not stopped raining today.

The biggest rock I’ve ever split.

[attachment=7866]  The can is the same size as a can of coke or other fizzy drink, just there for scale.

We’ve been taking it in turn on splitting this one today.

It must be very satisfying when you hear/see the crack, in just the right place.

Hitting the wedges is very musical. Every one has a slightly different tone. You know when it’s getting close to splitting because they start to make a dull thud. And you’re still hitting the wedges. Then you hear the split starting. And you’re still hitting the wedges. Shortly after you see the split appear. At that point you know if you’ve got it right or not. And you’re still hitting the wedges until it splits all the way through. Very satisfying. And when it doesn’t go to plan you get to see what interesting shapes come from it.
