ID please - Farendwoman - 19-06-2023 Not mine - but I’d like to know the name so thst I can find it and buy it! Absolutely smashing shrub about 2 and a half feet tall. Leaves are VERY similar to rosemary - so I expected the leaves to have a fragrance. They had no fragrance though. Tight little clusters of white buds. I would imagine that it would be great to use for foliage in a bunch. Any suggestions, please?? RE: ID please - MartinH - 19-06-2023 Looks lovely! I don't know it, so I did a bit of a search. I reckon it's an Ozothamnus. Maybe Ozothamnus rosmarinifolius, given what you say about the leaves. RE: ID please - Farendwoman - 19-06-2023 You are clever, Martin. That is definitely it- and honestly it really was lovely. Thank you. I hope to be able to find one soon. RE: ID please - Veggie - 19-06-2023 Can you take some cuttings from the one you've seen? https://www.burncoose.co.uk/site/content.cfm?ref=Ozothamnus+-+Growing+Guide Well done Martin. It had me foxed, RE: ID please - Farendwoman - 19-06-2023 No - it was in a Castle Garden, not a private one where I could politely ask the owner for a snipping. My late mum had no scruples whatsoever and would regularly massacre any poor plant that she wanted a bit of. I just think how much I would hate someone damaging one of my plants rather than asking me for a cutting. RE: ID please - JJB - 21-06-2023 My pal has asked for an ID of these, any ideas? She saw them when visiting her son's grave at a woodland burial ground so I'm assuming they're native to Britain. [attachment=6671] RE: ID please - Small chilli - 21-06-2023 Looks like Linaria maroccana . So not native, but very pretty RE: ID please - JJB - 21-06-2023 (21-06-2023, 09:41 AM)Small chilli Wrote: Looks like Linaria maroccana . I have it pop up occasionally in my garden. RE: ID please - toomanytommytoes - 21-06-2023 Looks exactly like the 'Fairy Bouquet' mixture I got from Premier Seeds. |
