I have been growing lavender plants from seeds for the last few months, I want to plant them along the base of my garden fence on the outside of the fence. I ljust be the smell of lavender, and I can trim it every year with the hedge clippers.

I now have 38 plants potted in my nursery and more seeds sowed.

Its whatever you want it to be. If pruning with hedge clippers, its a hedge!

Well done growing all those plants from seed. I've never tried with seed but grow mine from cuttings.
It won’t be tall enough to be a hedge but I want it to run into itself and have a continuous shrub on the base of the fence.

I have 2 other ones I bought last year in the GC and they are now huge. I need to transplant them to either end of my fence.
I managed to get 6 seeds to germinate the year before last. They aren’t overly impressed with the climate up here. They’re still in pots at the moment, and growing very slowly. I planted one from a GC in the garden when we first moved in here. It didn’t last long. So I’m pleased the ones in pots are still with us. They will be getting planted in my new garden though. Hopefully they will be a good size by then.
Yeah I’ve never been successful with lavender no matter how I buy it!
I have some modules as well that we been growing from seed since early jan. About 2' high now x
Well it does depend where you are and the type of lavender, herb, flower, tea, medicine, sleep aide, scrub, moisturiser, hedge, scent. It’s incredibly versatile. I spent an afternoon in the Lavender museum in Provence last year it was fascinating. It makes a lovely tea as long as you have the right type, don’t go drinking and eating any old lavender though. You want true lavande.
I have mine in the herb garden but after trying various recipe's using it, it has been relegated to a perfumed flower. Wink
Yeah I agree with Vinny - it doesn't belong in any of my cooking or baking, so flower it is Smile
I like it as a flower
