Zebrune harvest, chuffed with these as did Ok despite being without water for a long stretch.

Hello Dood

Would you mind detailing how you grew these please, i.e. when you planted the seed and when you transplanted them into the ground, assuming that's what you didSmile

Thanks very much
Hi Danny,
I sowed them indoors 5/3 in a 40 cell tray. I multisowed so about 4-5 seeds per cell. Once germinated I moved outside into a blowaway. Planted them out 7/5.

So you did'nt thin when you planted them out?
Not all seeds germinate but yes I plant them out in clumps of usually 2,3 or 4 plants.

Thanks for the info Dood, that's what this site is all aboutSmile

Will be interested in time to know how you stored them and how well it went.
I harvested my shallots during the week and left them to dry outside. No joy it has been raining since so I moved them into the tunnel today. They have not been a great harvest, some were very small.
Question, can these small ones be used for sowing for new shallots next year ? Or should I just dump them into the composter ?
