Are ferrets difficult to keep? I've only met one in real life. A neighbour came to the house, clutching a blonde one that she'd found and asked if it was mine. She seemed most surprised when I said it wasn't.

Very easy. Even easier if you keep only boys. Better to have more than one, like chickens they’re sociable and surprisingly affectionate.
Lost my beautiful boy today. I knew he didn’t have long left with us. He’s gone down hill quickly over the last couple of days. I will miss him greatly.
