Hi all,
Now that we have a Morr*sons near us, I have been spying some of the MFBs on offer (8 for 99p, I think). They look about 35 cm or 14 inches high, something like that. I imagined them a bit bigger, for some reason. I usually need more pots for chillies, peppers, tomatoes, melons, in the GH, but I'm not sure what is a good fit for this size pot.
In any case, I'm wondering what you grow in this size pot.
Please fill my head with ideas for GH growing!

I grow my chillies in MFB or bigger. Definitely nothing smaller.
I also grow, carrots , mint, sweet peppers, small tomatoes, like hanging basket type, I’ve been known to try spuds in them (1 spud to a bucket).
If something needs a good size pot MFB are the first thing I go to.
Lots of cuttings establishing in them at the moment.
Almost forgot great for cut & come again salad, spring onions and a couple of peas would do ok as well. Something like kelvedon wonder. They don’t grow to tall.
I've got carrots and peas in mine at the moment, also some manure tea.
I use them for a few bits and pieces, mainly cuttings or Brassicas (before planting out) downside is they become brittle if exposed to too much sun
Chillies, all my herbs, chives, Flat chives, parsley, basil. I have a few on the go and can swap them after using.
I also grow my early Tom's in them. I also use for flowers and growing on plants etc after they have been split, starting g fruit bush cuttings, black currants gooseberries etc.
Also for growing on plants that I want to look after during their first couple of winters befor putting in the ground. Have a few trees, acer, a few lilacs etc. it means I can overwinter in the greenhouse.
I think MFBs come in a couple of sizes and its " pot" luck (geddit) which ones you get!
Grow all my toms in them, but with the bottoms cut off to make ring culture pots.
Also, carrots, beans. peas, lettuce...........anything really.
I've got a couple that are taller than the rest, all from the same place.
I use mine for just about everything apart from runners because they tend to get blown over. Mostly its carrots, cucs, spare potatoes, spring onions and lettuce especially at the back end of the year then I can pop the lettuce in the GH when it turns frosty.
I use the flower buckets, there is a range of sizes. Also Lidl will give them away as they don't reuse them and often have the larger size x
I will be using them for growing chrysants this year, as well as some dahlias and thinking of using them for my gladioli, but not 100% sure of that as they could get blown over too easily
