Glad you made it, FEW. Smile
Great photo! Are they eggs or a fungi?

It makes me think of Fairy Inkcaps https://www.first-nature.com/fungi/copri...inatus.php
I'd like to know what happens next!!
I think eggs but don’t know what from.
They look like mushrooms to me

Easiest way to resize a photo is to screen shot it /email to yourself.

I'm happy as when I know the goal posts don't change I can manage my photo size to suit.
Definitely not fungi - they’re a bit frosted which makes them look fungi-ish.
I’m going out to get one now and cut it open. Will post another photo now I know how to do it! Thanks
Thanks all
I think they might be seeds.
Just cut them open and they’re solid - no squelchyness like an egg or puff of nasty spires like a fungus.
Fascinating!! They look like mini Scotch eggs.
Wonder what they'll grow in to - and No Thanks, I don't want to grow them myself. Smile
I think it is a food store for mice

You mean a substantial meal!
Nope - nor me ! I’ll just throw them in the ditch.

Wouldn’t mice take them into a shed or something rather than leave them on the garden to get rained on and frosted?
Mice make little piles of food all around -I think that's a good shout
....- but can't think what they could be.
