Just wondering how many folks on this forum are totaly organic,  my self I do use chemical feeds basicly because I have them, though nowadays I grow my veg. organically the flower beds a mix of both and my flower baskets are generally grown using chemical feeding, what do you use and why?
What about your seeds, Spec? Do you buy organically grown ones?
I’m not organic.
Have you seen the price of organic seeds, so you guess Smile
To give a more definitive answer Veggie, no I don't use organic seeds, I do not think there is any difference between "normal" seeds and organic seeds, as I am more inclined to think organic growing effects the soil more than the plants, but do think how you treat the plant above ground makes a great difference
Organic in the ground, organic + chemical in pots. The greenhouse tomatoes will be in soil this year for the first time, I'll probably keep them organic only and see how it goes.
No, I don’t do organic some of my feeds are chemical. I try to use organic feeds where possible like seaweed feed and tomato feed, also Bone blood and what ever.
I doubt that anyone would say they are "totally organic" - but there are lots who would say they try to be. I'm one.
I try to be organic too but there are times when I need to resort to chemicals but not often.
Those of us who use some chemicals, what do you use them for, I avoid using chemicals to control any pests, last year I had a big problem in the greenhouse with whitefly so this year I planted lots of French marigolds along with my tomatoes and was completely clear of whitefly
