I have never had much success growing peppers/chillies and was wondering when is the best time for sowing the seed and do they need heat once they are through? and if not what is the minimum temperature for them

Best time to sow is late January early February.
They still need a little heat once through. They prefer a constant temperature. So not next to a radiator that fluctuates.
Minimum temperature 10 degrees. SEEDLINGS WILL NOT DO WELL AT THIS TEMPERATURE!
They would like your new light set up . 

Do you want a selection of seed Spec ? Promise no ridiculous hot ones......... unless you want them   .

That's very kind of you for that offer Sc, though not old, I am old fashioned and don't really go in for the extremely hot chillies, as I like to taste what I eat as I am reorganising my greenhouse would I be better growing them in a separate bed or could the grow with either tomatoes or cucumber

They don’t mind sharing with others or in their own beds. They can get quite big, which is something to keep in mind.

I can highly recommend for no heat, Padron, Trinidad perfume, pink habanero. For low/medium heat farmers market jalapeño, Hungarian black, Havana gold.

It may surprise you, I’m not a fan of eating very hot chillies.

Sc when you say big do you mean wide or tall, as I had been thinking of growing them in a tiered system

Both. Tall & wide. Some varieties can stay quite short and wide ( basket of fire & Trinidad perfume springs to mind ).

Being a wuss, I will search for Padron,Trinidad Perfume and Pink Habanero. Would these all be suitable for greenhouse staging or are they too big? I have grown Padron in the past so I know these are suitable.
My greenhouse bench is slowly filling up with chillies and I blame you for that!  Looks like it's partly chillies again this year.

If you’ve grown Padron on your greenhouse staging before, the other two will be fine as well. Trinidad perfume I find to be quite a compact plant, pink hab can get quite big but no more than a Padron.

Is pink Habanero the same as Apricot Habanero? I am trying to find a firm that will supply me with all three types of seed. I am looking at Sea Spring Seeds but if you can direct me to a better website I would be deeply obliged.
