Which varieties are scented? I have one but it’s not got the beautiful scent. It’s still pretty & I’ve taken cuttings. But I’d really like some of the smelly stuff.  could you point me in the direction of which varieties to look for. Thank you.

I've no idea what varieties mine are - think they're native ones. Not spectacular flowers like some.
Thanks veggie. That link is very helpful. I think red globe is the one I remember from my childhood.
I must check the 2 I planted recently, hopefully they have a smell
My honeysuckle (wild hedgerow version) has been fantastic this year with masses of scented flowers over a long period. I built an obelisk for it to climb up and it has loved it. Its actually my next door neighbours plant, planted at the bottom of a beech hedge but trained up through the hedge and onto an obelisk on my side. Big Grin My neighbours were happy for me to do this as it usually got chopped the same height as the hedge and had very few flowers in the past. They also benefit from the smell on a summer evening. Smile
I have a couple of the shrubby fragrantissima winter flowering honeysuckle - we put one outside our bedroom window so we could smell it at night. Except we rarely open the bedroom window at night in the winter!!
The scent is gorgeous and while they make good sized shrubs they're happy being hacked too.

I like the sound of that PP. Cool

I will now go and skulk around the internet to see if I can pick up a bargain plant. Rolleyes
I like the sound of that too.
Let me know if you find any bargain plants Vinny  Big Grin
We used to have one in the garden 'Fragrant Could' but the wasps liked it too much.
I've got the winter one. I've just hacked mine back to a stub.
I've also got - I think the red one on Vc's link. It smells fab. It covers a huge ornamental cherry tree and a shed roof. In the evening my whole yard smells amazing. I have tried numerous times to take cuttings - never had any luck. If anyone knows how and when the best time to do it I'll happily have another go.
