Well I thought they deserved a thread of their own, especially at this time of year when they come in to their own (if you stop to notice). Here are a few from around the garden. I only vaguely know what these ones are. Grown up parasol (was part of a fairy ring but they and the nettles have gotten too big to show well in a piccy), then a birds nest fungi and a slime mold.

Love those birds nest fungus. Never seen those before.
My favorite is one that smells of the old linseed window putty you used to get (yes I am old enough to remember that smell). I saw one the other day but can't find it now. It has a blue green tint to it as well.

Its too wet for me to go hunting fungus today. They all look like slime molds!

Apparently this is called witches butter. Brilliant name.
