Just wanted to share what a stunning plant this is.  It has been tinged with purple stems and leaves from a small seedlings.

Now as I eagerly wait for the tomatoes to ripen, I gaze with adoration upon some super striking deeply coloured tomatoes
They look lovely! How do you know when they're ripe?
They apparently take about twice as long as others to ripen. When we see the green start to turn red, it's ripe, and will contain to sweeten as red spreads.
My husband thinks I am daft chatting away to them, drooling at their beauty and dreaming of them ripening so I can gobble them up
This was the breeding history I found when looking for more information on it x https://extension.oregonstate.edu/news/p...ndigo-rose
I chat to everything and everyone - as you know.Wink
Hope your toms taste as good as you hope!!
I found this as well its says its from a p20 line from OSU? And smurfs was from independant breeding by Tom Wagner? https://seasonalontariofood.blogspot.com...omato.html
The y are similar to dancing with smurfs but were bred by different breeders.

If you remember VC we all tried Blue Osu? That was one of the earlier blue tomatoes from the Jim Myers breeding program before the indigo rose was released.

Dancing with smurfs is also a blue cherry but was bred by Tom Wagner - he also did green zebra and also does a blue/green variety.
I think it brightens the day, chatting away.

I had my first Black Opal today, slightly early as could wait no longer. I love Black Cherry but they split so often and easily, this was hoped to be a potential replacement... And success, it was super tasty, and still to fully ripen, just gotta see how it holds up as it ripens

I love tomatoes, definitely my favourite plant to enjoy x
