Do yours dangle free?
Apparently, when growing cues up supports, you should set them at an angle, not straight up, as then the cues can dangle unencucucumbered and grow straight, and are easier to see.
Works with beans too but that's another story.
It depends where about in the tunnel the cucumbers are planted whether they go straight or at an angle. This year they are all straight. The tromboncino is growing at an angle ( more spiral ). I’ve done it with runner beans in the past and I’m partly doing it with my french beans (they’ve got to the top of the tunnel already so being trained across it now).
My runner beans and a few climbing french beans are on a caned tunnel. Because of the angle and the height I can very easily walk along the middle of the tunnel and pick the beans where they will dangle

Cucs are grown at an angle first from the self watering bench then up the GH roof lastly along the apex. Beans aren’t really at an angle just a gentle one some are up a tripod the rest of the beans are tied to a frame.
Haven't got the room to angle cucs, they grow up straight until they reach the gh roof and then the get trained along wires at the apex at which time Paul moans that he can't get in to water. Beans are up at an angle I suppose in the traditional row of canes meeting at the top, it makes no difference to finding the beans, I still have to rummage.
Ah but, you don't have to angle them out into the centre of the GH/PT you can angle them to the sides parallel to the glass.
Sounds like Triffids- am I in for a rude awakening with my cucumbers?, they are already giving me splinters
Mine are outdoors on a series of cane tripods and definitely dangle.
Why did I never think of this....
I grow my trombos over arches. This year I have two arches set up, and I think I will use the third arch for beans. Or maybe I'll use them for cukes actually, as I feel inspired by this post
They're not the strongest arches, but if you strengthen them with posts in the ground, they last quite well
