He makes the point at the end of the book that his outgoings for the following year will be minimal because the soil is now in good condition, he has a box of seeds and the fruit bushes will be bigger. All he thinks he'll need is some netting over the fruit.
I think most of us here have the tools that we need to manage our plots. I'm hoping to get through the year without buying any seeds or compost. ......but I'm making no promises. Wink

And already I’m play catch up. Which I expected and believe I will.
I've decided to count a credit of 50p per portion of any garden produce eaten out of the freezer or garden. Nothing credited for produce going onto the freezer until consumed.

Balance at the end of January 2024 is costs £8.15, credit £17.50.
So I'm £9.35 in credit

My January Balance sheet:-

OUT
20/1 2 Bags of onion sets & Charlotte potatoes £5

IN
FRESH
Salad leaves  x 2
Rocket x 1
FROZEN (2023)
Apple (frozen) x 2

TOTAL  5 x 50p = £2.50
My January balance. Includes stuff taken out of the freezer - could be up to 10 years old but most is last year or 2. Also, any bags started are included when first opened, the raspberries and black currants are still being eaten. Not sure if the wprices seem reasonable.
