Is wood ash good for fruit trees or did I make that up ?

If it is good how do I use it? Just scatter it around the base of the trees?

I put some in the compost bin and scatter the rest around the fruit bushes............but having read the RHS article maybe I shouldn't do that!
Thanks I’ll have a read of that.
I have'nt read veggies link but I believe, as well as being high in pottasium it is very alkaline and I use it instead of lime on brassica beds.
That was a very interesting read. After reading that. I’ll be adding it to my compost. Not put it around my fruit trees.

Me too  Blush   I've also been sprinkling it around raspberries and apple trees.
If you want to make soap you could use the lye made from woodash for that! Smile
