That's brilliant! I tried it once but they were covered in aphids. My mum always managed it.

I shall have to research how to do this. They look brilliant.
It was easy to do. I took off some side shoots in autumn and rooted them in water, then potted them up in compost and kept them on the windowsill all winter.

I got the idea from watching a Charles Dowding video on YouTube where he explained how he does it each year to keep growing a discontinued hybrid he likes. As I'd used up all my sungold seeds I thought I'd try it. 

My plan was to keep the cuttings as stock plants and take further cuttings for summer, but when I saw flower buds I decided to leave them alone and see what happened. It's a nice surprise to have such an early harvest!
I'm impressed, sounds like an autumn plan. I wonder whether windowsill wars might leak from spring into winter Big Grin
I've flowers on the windowsill Red Robin, but then again I've also got flowers on gh Cherokee Purple and Malachite
