When doing mashed potatoes, I often boil with a chunk of squash/pumpkin and some leek, generally in a pressure cooker. Any liquid left from cooking is used making gravy.

This is one of mine (the dark green one) - hopefully it was eaten subsequently

The Moneyless Chicken is collecting these today. Big Grin
Don't people realise that they're edible??
Nice. You going to save some seeds?  Big Grin .
Probably not saving seeds for growing as they're likely to have crossed with others. Of course, I may just scatter them randomly somewhere. Big Grin
And not saving them to grow does mean you have more to eat  Cool .
I like to dry/shallow fry them until they pop. Some are chewier than others - its a few years since I've had some seeds to pop.

One thing I've learned in the last few days - pumpkins in photos look much larger than they are in the flesh. Wish I could say the same. Wink

It's just reminded me I haven't made Bara Brith for ages

My mum says it's definitely better spread with butter. Me, I hate butter on cake. Butter is for toast.
