In temperament they're completely different.
Ted is like his Mum, always wants to play fetch, carries balls and sticks around all the time for me to throw.

Throw something for Spud and he'll look at me as if to say "You fetch it, you threw it. I'm not putting that dirty thing in my mouth" and goes back to sleep. If Spud's father was a cat. I wouldn't be surprised.
