Pruned the Joan J raspberries in my own special way - Cut out the dead brown canes, cut the fruited tips off the green canes down to the next viable raspberry/flower buds/green bud - aiming to reduce them to about 3' eventually.
I ignore the advice that says you should cut out fruited canes of autumn raspberries, down to ground level. Far too brutal!
I chop up the dead canes onto the path - its my way of creating woodchip.
Weeding...I thought they were supposed to slow down this time of year!!
They're not weeds, they're green manure.
Is that the right name - green manure???? That's gross.............
2 more bags of leaves collected
Finished digging the bean trench, put a layer of paper shredding’s in the bottom, next layers to come
Put together a netting frame for the perennial kale and broccoli/colly, ordered netting
Starting listing seeds for the commercial seed swap/give-away thread!
I lifted 4 apple trees and replanted them in the corner of the patio, I actually lifted 5 in total but one was a bit damaged so I decided to bin it rather than risk any disease
I potted up a cucumber seedling. I did a germinate test. Only got one out of 3, so not good enough results for swapping, but very good for me.
5 beds cleared of old / finished veggies.
Took down pea wigwam.
Tidied up all my old greenhouse and staging tubes/pipes/joints into a big black bin for easy storage/access.
Tidied the yard coal bunker / garden storage shed.
Took 2 bags a leaves to the plot.
Also took netting frame, cardboard, pickaxe, and some out of date/spent bokashi bran.
I'm hoping to use the bits above for a productive day tomorrow as the weather looks good, at the moment anyway!
I then got my IT head on, my antivirus runs out next month so I queried the renewal price, £164 however as I’m a valued customer £84, I told them to do one. So far IMO I've found equivalent apps for £19 and £24!
Almost forgot started sorting seeds & making more seed envelopes for the swap. When rained stopped play outside.
